 We work in partnership with the five local authorities in Tyne & Wear to help develop and deliver Travel Plans, and on behalf of the Local Transport Plan partners we manage the Smarter Choices initiative.
Our primary objective in supporting travel planning is to reduce reliance on single person car use, by promoting realistic alternatives, particularly public transport.
As traffic levels rise, and congestion increases, it is increasingly important to address how people get to employment sites, residential developments, health and education centres and offer advice on other methods of travel than just the car.
