  East Boldon Park and Ride.
  Nexus is developing a £320,000 proposal to extend the Metro station car park at East Boldon. The plans would see an additional 128 parking spaces created by extending the existing car park onto an adjacent piece of wasteground.

  Improving bus travel in Gateshead and Sunderland by overcoming delays to buses and introducing park and ride bus services.
  A £15.1 million bid has been submitted to Government to overcome delays to bus services by investing in major highway works at the Wheatsheaf junction in Sunderland (£3.1 million), on the Felling By Pass and Sunderland Road in east Gateshead (£1.5 million) and at the north end of the Team Valley Trading Estate in Gateshead (£1.6 million).
