Tyne and Wear has one of the most accessible transport networks in the country. The Metro system was designed to be accessible with lifts or ramps at all stations and over half of the local bus fleet consists of low floor vehicles. We also provide a TaxiLink service for those unable to use conventional public transport and comprehensive Concessionary Travel Scheme for local residents.
